In collaboration with Nashville-based baseball team the Nashville Dollys, I created a logo and visual identity for the team that has extended from their uniforms, to their merch line, social presence, and beyond.
The Dollys are a self-described sandlot baseball club inspired by the humanitarian legacy of Dolly Parton, with the goal of playing baseball and contributing to their community. A portion of profits from their extensive merch line supports Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and other charitable orgs in Tennessee.
These photos of the team wearing my uniform designs are a rare treat for me. I don't often get to see my work being enjoyed by the people I made it for, I love it.
In addition to their physical merch, I was often commissioned by the Dollys to create social media content for various events, like in this example for the "9 to 5" inspired merch drop called "Dolly Day." These projects often gave me the opportunity to expand upon their visual identity with secondary colors and interesting typography.
I created announcements for games as well, as seen here in a selection of social posts aimed at raising awareness of a friendly tournament held to mark the end of their season.
My work with the Dollys eventually brought me into the wider Nashville baseball community. Inspired by the vintage baseball aesthetic, I designed a line of posters and merch for the Nashville Sandlot Jamboree, a charitable event focused around baseball and live music.
Working with the Dollys led me to a project with another team in the league as well, the Nashville Ballhogs. While on a run, I got a text asking if I'd be interested in illustrating a pin-up-style pig wearing an old-school women's baseball uniform. That's not the kind of project you pass up.
